HFS's corporate office, library, and laboratory are located in Minneapolis with a branch office in Arkansas and North Dakota. Hemisphere Field Services supports a variety of near surface geophysical methods for both archaeological and environmental applications. Our services include soil resistivity and conductivity, magnetics, seismic refraction, and ground penetrating radar. Certain methodologies are better suited for identifying particular targets in different site contexts.

Prior to any field work, HFS staff scientists meet with clients to identify site specific requirements and determine the most appropriate methodology to employ. We also offer geographic information system (gis) analysis. Gis can be used in a number of capacities to perform powerful spatial analyses. We specialize in performing gis analyses for site remediation, natural resource management, waste manangement, water quality, groundwater modeling, environmental compliance issues, and vegetation mapping. We also provide gis as a business tool for demographic profiling, target marketing, market research, risk management, and competitive analyses.
