This US company is a "one stop shop" for buying standards from over 300 standards developing organizations worldwide. It also provides a standards updating service, some online ordering and delivery, and various other services related to standards and standardization.

·         Document Center
Document Center Inc. specializes in paper copy delivery of specifications and standards developed by US and non-US sources. Read about the company's services.

·         ILOLEX - the ILO's Database on International Labour Standards
This is a searchable database of the full text of the International Labour Organization's international labour standards.

Information is included about ANSI's standards and conformity assessment activities as well as links to other standards and conformity assessment sites. Through paid subscription access to the Standards Information Databases is available.

·         American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers
The site contains information about ASHRAE, its meetings and conferences, publications, research and standards. Their online journal is also accessible from the site.

·         Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)
The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits health care organizations in the US. The site provides information about their publications, standards for accreditation, etc.

The site provides information and background documents about ISO 14000 - Environmental Quality Management standards.

·        Underwriters Laboratories Inc.
Information is provided about UL, their data services, standards, etc. Catalogs of their standards and products are available.

 

 

4.         Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS):

·         The ~ 325,000 MSDS files contained in this database are derived from :

the CD-ROM version of the U.S. Government Department of Defense MSDS database.

·         A mirror of some of the information maintained at The Vermont SIRI Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) collection.

·         MSDS sheets maintained by Cornell University Environmental Health and Safety and other Cornell departments.

5.         Analytical Methods:

·         NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods (NMAM)
NMAM is the result of part of the research activities of the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) relating to the determination of workplace contaminants. NMAM is a collection of methods for sampling and analysis of contaminants in workplace air, and in the blood and urine of workers who are occupationally exposed. The methods themselves are available in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format.

 

·         OSHA Analytical Methods
This site provides access to analytical methods from the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration - fully validated methods for organic and inorganic chemicals, and partially validated methods. Some of the methods are provided in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format.

This is an online version of the Guidebook, developed jointly by Transport Canada, US Department of Transportation and the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation of Mexico.

The site maintainers say "This page contains links to EPA factsheets for every regulated toxic chemical." The fact sheets available are actually Hazardous Substance Fact Sheets from the New Jersey Department of Health Right to Know Program.
